I am a first time author of a non-fiction book. Is it recommendable to self-publish for first time authors? Or is it better to just go to a publishing company? Thanks!

What is the best way to get a fiction book published?

Victoria U asked:

I heard that getting into the fiction world takes a lot of time. The best way I heard to get a fiction book published is to first write a non fiction book and then write a fiction book. Is this true, does it really work this way?

I’m trying to write a fiction book (not publish it), any good tips?

Cherrrrrrr101 asked:

OK, so I might not be that old yet but I’m writing a book just for the fun of it, you know, see how it turns out. I just need a few tips to help polish what I’ve written so far. It can be about anything - planning, writing, thinking, whatevs - and if you want to be the one with the best answer the tip(s) should be easy-to-remember, not necessarily “quick” but clear and understandable. Thx =)

What is the process of publishing a fiction book?

Ms. Denton Lone Star ™ asked:

Is it COMPULSORY that my work of art is edited? I have my New Orleans dialect in the writing, & I don’t want that to be edited. I know it’s kind of expensive. I’m worried that my work of art will not be good enough, but I really want to publish my fiction that I’m writing. Maybe I need someone to guide me to see if the events in my story makes sense, but I don’t want the editor editing unwanted material.
