Corn is not dog food! No wheat! asked:

I want to publish a book.

So do half a billion other people. LOL!

What are the odds of actually publishing fiction?

It depends on how good your work is, and how good of an Agent you find… (I plan on using Writer’s House… they’re the company Stephenie Meyer’s agent works for… lol)

So, good work + good agent = good chance. :)

pretty good. i cant remember off the top, oh wait i think its publish america my sister went too. she just published a book and shes bipolar with dyslexia. if she can do it you can. but i would look into it. it just seems like she wont get a lot per book. something like a dollar something so look around and do your homework. its an achievable dream apparently. im actually gonna give it a shot myself.

The odds of getting traditionally published are better than winning the lottery, actually. 3 out of a hundred manuscripts get published, but only 1 in a million entries win the lottery.

Publish America is a notorious scam. Sorry, but it is true. They will accept anything so long as you pay them.

    Yes, it’s a sensible goal.

This forum link has published writers and others to give more advice.

Besides… life is long… publishing a book is definitely achievable.
