Self Publish a book.or not?
Nancey asked:
I am a first time author of a non-fiction book. Is it recommendable to self-publish for first time authors? Or is it better to just go to a publishing company? Thanks!

try a publisher first. send a synopsis and sample chapter and a biographical note. If rejected think carefully - they know marketability and yrs may not be sellable. If you print - fine - but then you gotta distribute - big hassle. I have published three books through publishers, you dont get a lot of money but they have all the hassle and I;m all over the web. On the other hand I printed two myself and made a loss on both and have crates of them haning round the house. Good luck
“Recommendable??!!” Oh man.
Yes, you better self-publish. But don’t quit your job at McDonald’s.
