I am in the process of writing my first children’s book. It is non-fiction…..and I want to use photographs that I have found on the internet. My dream is to have it published by Scholastic, Inc. My questions are these: what is the process of publishing? What is a good way to get my manuscript to Scholastic? How do I gain legal rights to the photos on the internet? Or are the photos not protected by copyright laws because they were posted on the net? I would love to hear your publishing stories, PLEASE!
I am currently writing a fiction book. A couple of people have read what I’ve done so far and think it is very interesting. They are encouraging me to finish it and look into getting it published. What are the odds of that really happening, though? I’ve already written approx 200 pages and would like to finish it. However, I don’t want to spend a lot of time and energy completing the story if the possibility of ever getting it published doesn’t exist. I understand that rejection letters are part of the process. Still, there are so many dos and don’ts related to this topic, that I’m just not sure where to go or how to start, which makes it all quite discouraging. I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars either, the idea is to try to make some money. Thank you for any help

I just finished writing a book a little over a year ago, but am green in the publishing world. I’ve looked into some publishers, but they just didn’t seem reputable.
Does anyone know of any reputable book publishers?
It’s Suspense/Mystery and fiction, if that helps anybody.

I am looking for a fiction book database, where I can, for example, search for all stories about drug dealers?
If you ever bought those cheap video catalog books that Roger Ebert publishes you can see a brief description of plot and character goal. It would be nice to find a database that I can search on fiction works.
Subject matter would be geared toward middle-aged adults
My book is finished, and is in the “teen fiction” genre. It is my first novel, and I really need advice here. Thanks so much!

I am in the process of writing a juvenile fiction book. I would like to find a publisher, but really do not know where to start. There are so many websites and places on the internet, it is hard to know what are legitimate and what are not. I would like to find a publisher that I can be in regular contact with and not just communicating through impersonal emails.

My friend and I are co-writing a novel. Could it be published if there’s two authors?
thank you so much everyone =]
It has always been a dream to write and publish a book. when I was younger I was constantly writing stories. However, I went to school for psychology…. so I am a little out of practice. Sure I have written lots of papers for school, but I am interested in writing young adult fiction. How do I go about getting published after I finish my book? Any chance a publisher will take me seriously? It doesn’t have to be a huge success, It is just one of my dreams to see my words in print.
I recently had a short fiction novel published. I would like to try and find an inexpensive way to market it?
